washington university in st. louis mfa catalogue
client: Washington University in St. Louis, Sam Fox School of Art & Design
project: photography, digital & print book design
details:
Washington University in St. Louis’ Sam Fox School of Art & Design MFA program was reaching out to potential Masters of Fine Arts students and donors, but needed a publication that would attractively promote the program. The publication had to successfully adapt to digital and print mediums to maximize distribution. Their goal was to give a glimpse into the program by showcasing the diverse students and their work. Along with designing the publication, I was tasked with photographing the artists, their work, and collecting text. By utilizing a minimalist style and formulaic grid design, the publication did not compete with the images and texts. Spreads were highly considered and crafted as a complimentary set. Fundamentally, the publication functions as a white walled art gallery.
This MFA catalogue has been sent to college and university art departments to attract student applications, while also being sent to art donors and patrons.
